Level 2 Coach

About the role:

We are looking for a reliable Level 2 (minimum) Tennis Coach to join Cwmbran Tennis Club. These hours will include working on a Thursday afternoon/evening and will have the chance to deliver 1-2-1 sessions.  This position is ideal for someone looking to boost their existing coaching hours or for someone looking to start their coaching career pathway.

About the club:

Cwmbran Tennis Club is going from strength to strength each year, with membership increasing and club development projects ongoing. We have 6 outdoor tennis courts, which are all LED floodlit and courts 1-3 looking to be resurfaced this year. We cater for all ages and abilities and have lots going on.

Lead Development Coach

Location: The Vale of Glamorgan (near Cardiff)

Employment type: Full or Part-Time

Role:
We are looking to employ a driven and enthusiastic coach that can coach players of all ages and abilities. Key duties include:
• Managing, delivering and driving sessions within our club junior, adult, squad & holiday camp programmes.
• Developing and managing delivery of a Competition Programme across our venues.
• Promoting and encouraging sign-up to our programmes.
• Encouraging club/venue membership and other additional playing opportunities.
• Being available to deliver Private (one-to-one) sessions/coaching
• Developing our grass roots park programmes.
• Developing and implementing a regular competition programme.
• Being an effective member of the VTA Coaching Team by attending meetings and collaborating with other members of the team.

Hours:
• Guarantee of up to 20 hours of weekly group lessons during term time (depending on the candidate) with opportunities to increase.
• Competition delivery approximately 4 hours per week.
• Minimum of 18 hours per week during holiday camps.
• A good opportunity to increase hours further with Private Session bookings and racquet restringing.

About Vale Tennis Academy:
Vale Tennis Academy provides quality tennis programmes in and around The Vale of Glamorgan (near Cardiff). Our vision is to develop tennis within the community by making tennis more accessible and affordable with great facilities for everyone to use. We have coaching programmes in Penarth, Barry, Llantwit Major, Wenvoe and Peterston Super Ely. We operate with a small, friendly and close team of coaches. Our Head Coach and Director is Rob Cunningham, Level 5 Master Club Coach, LTA Coach Developer, Lead Tutor for Tennis Wales and Qualified Coach Mentor.

Qualification, Skills & Experience:
• LTA Level 2 or Level 3 (preferred) Coach Qualification or equivalent. We will consider coaches who are already on the level 2 pathway.
• LTA Accreditation (essential). This includes; valid DBS, Safeguarding and First Aid Certificates.
• Drivers Licence & own transport (essential)
• A competent playing ability and knowledge of the game
• Knowledge of LTA Programmes and delivery
• Experience teaching/coaching tennis to a variety of player abilities and ages.
• Good organisation and communication skills
• Experience running basic competitions
• Basic computer literacy

Tennis Wales In The Park Coaching Vacancies (Self-Employed)

Role Details

  • To actively promote and engage with the local community in order to develop and deliver an all-year-round.
  • For the programme to be inspiring and sustainable and at it’s heart a community tennis development programme for people of all ages and abilities.
  • Provide attractive opportunities for casual and recreational players who perceive joining a club to be too formal for their needs, to access the sport
  • To roll out the delivery of Barclays Free Parks Tennis at least 6 weekends in the year, to be uploaded to ClubSpark, Tennis Wales can support in doing so.
  • To plan and deliver at least one, well organised Barclays Big Tennis Weekend, on the LTA national campaign dates, usually the first and last weekend of Wimbledon.
  • Provide periodic attendance statistics data to Tennis Wales on the state of the coaching programme. All sessions should be uploaded to ClubSpark.
  • Consideration should be given as to how coaches will engage new players into tennis, particularly those classed as ‘inactive’ using the LTA OPEN COURT disability tennis initiative support where possible.

Tennis Squad is a multi-coach, multi-venue, multi-service tennis provider working across South Wales with partner clubs in Cardiff, the Vale of Glamorgan, RCT and Newport.

Our programmes are thriving, demand is growing, and we’ve got some exciting ideas we’d love to bring to life – but our current coaching team is already maxed out. So, we’re putting out a speculative call for a qualified, enthusiastic coach who’d like to get involved in paid, part-time community coaching.

What could be involved

Padel Coach

Job description:

We are opening a new padel club in Cardiff and are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive Padel Coach to help deliver high-quality coaching and support the growth of the club from day one. This role focuses on coaching beginner to intermediate players, delivering Junior Academy sessions, supporting club events, and contributing to a strong, inclusive club culture. The coach will report directly to the Head of Padel and will deliver sessions in line with the Head of Padel’s methodology and programmes.

Responsibilities:

Coaching & Player Development
– Deliver engaging, high-quality coaching sessions for beginner to intermediate padel
players.
– Coach sessions in line with the Head of Padel’s methodology and programme structure.
– Adapt coaching delivery to suit different abilities, ages, and learning styles.
– Provide clear, positive, and constructive feedback to players.

Junior Academy
– Deliver Junior Academy sessions following the Head of Padel’s coaching framework.
– Ensure a safe, positive, and motivating environment for young players.

Events & Club Activities

About You
– Coaching experience in padel with beginner to intermediate players.
