LTA LEVEL 1 TENNIS COACHING ASSISTANT– EX-SERVICE PERSONNEL WITH A PHYSICAL / COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENT

Have you previously served in the military or been in a blue light service? Looking for a change of career or second career? Always loved to be active, passionate about getting others active and fancy a career in coaching? Why not join like minded people, other ex-military and blue light personnel on the Tennis Level 1, a 2 day course which will provide all the information you need to start a career in tennis coaching.
This enhanced two-day qualification is ideal for tennis parents, enthusiasts, or keen players looking for the knowledge and skills to support group coaching sessions, alongside a lead Coach. Learning outcomes include:
- Communication, organisation and differentiation skills for group coaching
- Basic tactical, technical, physical and mental development frameworks
- Other key assistant skills; from safeguarding to LTA Youth delivery

DURATION AND COURSE STRUCTURE
- 2 full days
- 4 hours coaching experience
There are two separate components to LTA Qualifications; Training and Assessment.
Training: The LTA Assistant course consists of two days of face-to-face training time, which are separated by a minimum of 3 weeks (to provide time for 4 hours’ work experience & course work-completion).
Assessment: The LTA Assistant course does not require a Final Assessment as it is continually assessed throughout the course.
On completion of the course LTA Assistants will be trained as a Court Supervisor and will also receive their Safeguarding Training which can be accepted as part of LTA Coach Accreditation.

MENTORED EXPERIENCE
Minimum of three hours experience assisting an LTA Accredited or Accredited+ coach during the 3-6 week break.
The LTA strongly recommends that a coach has appropriate insurance cover when undertaking supervised experienced hours that are a requirement of the course.
Completion of Level 1 Portfolio.
COURSE PRE-REQUISITES
- Be a minimum of 16 on the first day of the course.
- Have a signed letter of deployment from the club where coaching experience will be undertaken or request a letter of deployment from the course provider.
